FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How do the most difficult-to-poll individuals respond to TouchPoll systems?
TouchPoll systems are proven to be the method of choice for seniors and
high-income earners. Many seniors are not computer-literate, but they will stand
in line for the opportunity to give their opinions. Many times, it's the first chance
they will have to interact with this type of technology, and they all want to offer their
feelings.
High-income earners are the toughest segment to survey, but TouchPoll is
friendly, is quick, anonymous and most are very familiar with computers. Touch is
the method of choice for the more successful income group. We once polled over
100 high incomer earners in less than 4 hours at one of Jamaica's premier
Investment seminar.
Q: How do we get "realistic" income data and answers about sensitive issues?
Touchscreen is proven to be the very best method of collecting income data.
During a normal phone poll or clipboard survey, it is proven that high-earners lie
downwards and low-earners lie upwards. With touchscreen, the respondents
know no one will match their answers with their name, so income answers are
very responsible. As a matter of fact, close to 100% of our respondents gladly
offer "straight" answers, something our client count on and greatly appreciate.
Q: How do we stop kids or inappropriate respondents from taking a poll?
Whether attended or unattended, our interactive technology automatically
branches kids or non-desired demographics to other questions which may be
used or deleted; nonetheless, many modern-thinking clients prefer to program
separate internal surveys for children and others. Appropriate placement of the
TouchPoll survey station and some level of monitoring can also greatly assist this
process.
Q: How do we stop respondents from taking our surveys more than once?
We have carefully studied this issue, with some amazing results. We have found
a higher incidence of persons wanting to take the poll twice at events such as
expo's and trade show. This due to the fact that sometimes there are other
demonstration products on display and persons tend not to think that a real
survey is being conducted. Even so statistically this represents a very low
percentage of persons (less than 1%). At events such as seminars, conventions
or conferences almost no one ever wants to take the poll twice.
Q: How do we control the "sampling"?
Clients want to know that, if needed, true random sampling is occurring. Our
systems are the best known methodology for polling all types of respondents.
Literally every segment of the population is drawn to these systems (including
seniors and the more affluent) in equally proportionate percentages. Unless a
respondent is illiterate (this grouping is rarely required to be surveyed by our
clients), he or she will take the survey.
Q: How do we handle "walk-aways"?
It's no secret that a small percentage of respondents may stop entering questions
due to being in a hurry, or they may be pulled away by a spouse etc. During
clipboard survey or phone polls, the respondent may chose to give misleading or
false answers to bring the process to an end, rather than walking away or
hanging up. Our systems are not affected at all by this-- they are programmed to
discard data entered for an incomplete survey and resets to the start screen right
after a person discontinues the polling process thus allowing another respondent
to take the survey.
Q: Can i create my own surveys?
Absolutely. You can design as many surveys as you'd like. TouchPoll has a
built-in wizard that leads you step by step in the creation of a poll. You can even
re-arrange questions after you've started! Only the size of your hard drive can limit
you.
Q: How many questions and answers can a survey have?
The number is unlimited. However, be careful not to make the survey too lengthly!
Most surveys have about two dozen questions. Each question can have up to
twenty answer options, and it can be customized to allow for multiple answers per
question or for text to be typed in for open-ended questions.
Q: Will TouchPoll let the respondent "branch" off to different questions?
Yes. Based on the respondent's answer, the poll can take that person to
subsequent different questions. This can be customized to allow for multiple
answers per question.
Q: What if the power fails?
The system automatically saves all previously data, then "re-boots" right back to
the start screen if desired.
